Falls Creek, the largest ski area in Victoria, offers a premier ski-in-ski-out resort and a range of world-class on-snow activities.

Located in the heart of the heritage-listed Alpine National Park, Falls Creek features the most extensive ski and snowboarding terrain in Victoria during the winter season. In the warmer months, it transforms into a top destination for mountain biking and hiking. With 92 marked trails and 14 lifts, Falls Creek boasts 450 hectares of skiable terrain, making it the largest ski area in Victoria.

Car

Falls Creek is a 4.5 hour drive (356km) from Melbourne (closest international airport) or 1.5hr drive from Albury (closest regional airport). Falls Creek is a day’s drive from Sydney (690km).

During winter you will need to park your vehicle in overnight car parking.

Helicopter

Avoid the long drive and hassle of snow chains this winter by arriving at Falls Creek Resort with Forest Air Helicopters.

Resort entry & parking

Please note that a Resort Entry permit is required for all vehicles travelling to Falls Creek. The Resort Entry permit is not included in the tariff.

Night Skiing

The easy terrain of Wombats Ramble comes alive after dark two nights a week, offering extended skiing and snowboarding adventures even after the sun sets.

At 2.2kms, Wombats Ramble is Australia’s longest green run and a favourite among skiers and snowboarders at Falls Creek. The entire run is illuminated by high-voltage Green Power floodlights, lighting up the trail from the top of Halley’s Comet at Cloud 9 all the way down to St Falls Hotel.

Grab the kids, gather some friends, and enjoy the thrill of skiing under the stars.

Saturdays: 6pm-9pm
Wednesdays: 6pm-9pm

Thursday nights come alive at Falls Creek during July and August with an exciting fireworks show in the Village Bowl, starting at 7pm.

Snow Tubing

Snow Tubing provides endless amounts of fun and excitement as you spin, bounce, bump and laugh your way downhill on a snow tube.

Open daily from 2pm to 6pm, our purpose-built Snow Tube Park in the Village Bowl provides fun for the whole family while on a break from the slopes.

Numbers are limited so please visit the Activities Desk located at Falls Creek Sports in the Village Bowl to arrange your half hour Snow Tubing session during your visit to Falls Creek.

Please note participants must be 90cm tall and a minimum of 5 years old to Snow Tube.

Back Country Tours

Steve Lee’s family is now offering the backcountry tours that Steve made famous over the past decade.

Starting at the top of Eagle Express, you’ll be whisked away by snowmobile into Falls Creek’s pristine backcountry. Experience the Australian Alps like never before, from the open bowls and gullies of Rocky Knolls to the tree skiing in Pretty Valley and the black diamond steeps and chutes of Mt McKay.

Going up the mountain is as much fun as coming down, with custom snowmobiles ensuring a comfortable and stylish return to the top. These half-day tours are perfect for solid intermediate to advanced skiers and boarders of all ages.
